Tips to Improve the Way You Play Blackjack

All of the following Blackjack tips can be traced back to the simple superstitions and hunches we have all heard about. Whether or not they are true or not, they are good to contemplate over and may even serve as good advice.

Blackjack Tip 1

Assuming the dealer has nothing (the easiest way to make this assumption is to see that the dealer's face up card does not match the hole card), a player has about a 0.5% chance of making a blackjack.

Blackjack Tip 2

If the dealer has an ace facing up, no matter how many other cards are lying around the table, a player has about a 0.1% chance of getting another blackjack.

Blackjack Tip 3

If the dealer has a face card or a face number showing (this is very important), a player has about a 0.05% chance of getting that card.

Blackjack Tip 4

When the dealer has an ace showing (must be counted as either a small or big ace), a player has about a 0.03% chance of getting an ace.

Blackjack Tip 5

If the player has a face card and the dealer has a face card or a face number showing (again, must be counted as a small or big face card), a player has about a 0.1% chance of getting another face card.

Blackjack Tip 6

If the player has two face cards and the dealer has one, a player has about a 0.3% chance of getting another face card.

If the player has three face cards, the dealer has about a 0.9% chance of getting a fourth face card.

If the player has two aces, the dealer has about a 1.1% chance of getting a fifth card.

If the player has two kings, the dealer has about a 1.5% chance of getting a sixth card.

If the player has a three card combo, the dealer has about a 0.75% chance of getting a seventh card.

Blackjack Tip 11

If the player has two pairs, the dealer has about a 1.2% chance of getting a fourth card.

Blackjack Tip 12

If the player has two Jacks, the dealer has about a 0.65% chance of getting another card.

Blackjack Tip 13

If the player has a pair of Kings, the dealer has about a 2.5% chance of getting a fifth card.

Blackjack Tip 14

If the player has a pair of Queens, the dealer has about a 2.5% chance of getting a sixth card.

Blackjack Tip 15

If the player has a single ace, the dealer has about a 0.35% chance of getting a second ace.

Blackjack Tip 16

If the player has a six-card combo, the player has about a 36% chance of getting a seventh card.

Blackjack Tip 17

If the player has a seven-card combo, the player has about a 64% chance of getting a 7.

Blackjack Tip 18

Players can double down on any number of cards, as long as they have six. Single digit combos are hit more often.

Blackjack Tip 19

The player can split a pair, provided that the player and the dealer have matching cards. If the player has a nine and the dealer has a 2, the player will be paid more for a split but less for a stand.

Blackjack Tip 20

The player and the dealer must be matched in rank to play. Non-matchable combinations will have a higher payout when split but this can be offset with a higher risk of loss.

Blackjack Strategy 21

It is usually advisable to limit your bet to around 12% to 14% of your total chip amount. With this level of risk/reward, you can wait out losing streaks with.

Blackjack Tip 22

It is possible to reduce the house edge in Blackjack, by understanding the basic strategy. This can take some of the sting out of losing streaks.

Blackjack Tip 23

Players who are experienced and skilled can bet higher amounts of chips, before the dealer passes their turn. This is considered good bankroll management.

Blackjack Tip 24

Establish a fixed sum of cash to bet, and stick to that stake. While in play, if you are in a casino, never take your eye off of the chip count. While at home, set a limit on the amount of money you are willing to lose in the game. This will help to keep losses under control.
